Core measures and other physician variances (medical staff rule violations, etc.) can and should be tracked at the individual clinician level.
Such activity naturally complements peer review activity and may occasionally provide input to the peer review process. PREP-MSTM offers this module to track and manage variance data with the same efficiency that it manages peer review data.
Variance data add another dimension to physician profile reports. Variances are determined with respect to explicit criteria, whereas peer review assessments are more complex and involve a subjective component.
The variance turn-around time (TAT) report mirrors the TAT report for peer review.
