The medical staff leadership cannot fulfill its responsibility to monitor the processes of care without providing for effective oversight of peer review. As a practical matter, in hospitals with more than a few review committees, it may be desirable to delegate this function to a peer review oversight sub-committee (PROC). The PROC Summary Report is designed to augment regular review of peer review committee minutes with periodic examination of each committee's process and outcomes.
This report is further complemented by a host of other reports that can be created with a single click at Report Central at both the committee and hospital level. For example, the hospital level reviewer scoring report helps to identify reviewer or committee biases in clinical performance measurement. Together, they enable scrupulous governance of the peer review program.
